The Moment the Fog Lifted

Sometime in January 2019, on my day off, I was sitting on the couch for over two hours scrolling through social media apps with no purpose — watching just one second of those 10-second shorts before moving to the next one. A decision was made: I deleted all social media apps and promised myself not to reinstall them for a very long time — until I became something. Seven years have passed and I have zero appetite for those apps.

Social Media Gone = Mental Capacity Freed

With all that reclaimed time, I had a realisation: there is far more to life than the standard template of “Eat, Work, Sleep, Consume, and Die.” Work five days a week, life admin, recover on the weekend, and repeat until 65 (or 67 in some countries). I realised I was trading the best hours of my life for money I didn’t have the time to enjoy — and I was scheduled to do it for 30 more years. I wasn’t unhappy; I was just trapped in a calculation I hadn’t run yet. Changing employers, roles, and getting promotions gave me a temporary rush but didn’t fix the core issue: fulfilment and free time.

Why The Freedom Number Exists

I’m a corporate office worker who specialises in the technology space, so I look at everything through the lens of logic and systems. Financial independence isn’t a lottery or a lucky break — it’s a maths problem. Once you know your Freedom Number, the fear disappears. You aren’t “grinding” anymore; you’re executing a sequence of steps.

I built this site to help you find your number and own your life. While others around me spend their life energy (money) on things like new cars, I am quietly putting my money to work. I am simply documenting and sharing the journey. At work, some of my colleagues are always stressed about money — then they go and take out a seven-year car loan and spend $30+ on coffees and lunches every day. I am here to show that with discipline, basic maths, and consistency, anyone can achieve financial freedom and live a meaningful life.

“Money gives you freedom, freedom gives you control, and control is everything.”

While most people are impressed by fancy cars, expensive watches, and everything with a big brand tag — projecting an image of success while in debt to their eyeballs — I admire people who have free time. People who go to the gym at 10 am, spend an hour enjoying breakfast, catch weekday flights, and work on passion projects that might generate income someday.

Many years ago, I started this journey of self-development. I began writing down my thoughts, problems, and solutions — and things started taking shape. My health, relationships, finances, and satisfaction levels all improved.

I’m just an average 9–5 worker on my way to being free from this “hamster on a wheel” life. I consider myself a tourist on this beautiful planet and want to see as much of it as I can while I’m still healthy. Helping others has always brought me joy. This site is one of those passion projects that has finally come to life. So — welcome aboard!

I’ll wrap up with one of my favourite quotes:

“The reason to win the game is so that you can be free of it.” — Naval Ravikant

And a question:

What is life about?

My answer: living on my own terms.

What’s yours?

Ciao!
